Weilin Wang

Weilin began training in boxing at a young age through China's structured youth sports academy system, where he developed a strong foundation in Olympic-style amateur boxing through formal training in technique, footwork, conditioning, and disciplined athletic preparation. After moving to the United States, he continued his boxing training at Kage Fit Academy in Auburn, Alabama, where he received boxing instruction from professional mixed martial artist and UFC middleweight Tre’ston Vines, who helped him refine his punching technique, footwork, defense, movement, and overall approach to striking. After relocating to Baltimore in 2021, Weilin continued developing his boxing skills at Corner Team Boxing Club in East Baltimore. In addition to boxing, Weilin has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Kanjizai Academy for approximately five years, giving him a well-rounded background in combat sports, conditioning, movement, and martial arts training. As a boxing instructor, Weilin focuses on helping beginners develop strong fundamentals through proper stance, footwork, punching technique, defense, and conditioning. His approach emphasizes clean technique, consistency, and building a solid foundation before progressing to more advanced skills. His goal is to create a welcoming and structured environment where students can learn authentic boxing fundamentals, improve their fitness, and build confidence through training.

Our story unfolds

Explore our milestones, growth, and memorable achievements throughout our journey.

From a single vision to Baltimore's most awarded academy — explore the milestones that shaped Kanjizai into what it is today.

Kanjizai was founded on a straightforward belief: that practical self-defense should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, size, or athletic ability. From day one, the goal wasn't to build competitors — it was to build confident, capable people who could protect themselves and the ones they love.

When Kanjizai opened its doors in Baltimore in 2012, it began as a small academy with a focused curriculum and an even more focused mission. Word spread quickly. Students found not just effective training, but a welcoming community built on mutual respect, honest instruction, and real results.

As the academy grew, so did its recognition. Kanjizai earned its certification as an official Gracie Training Center — one of a select number of academies authorized to teach the authentic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu curriculum under Grandmaster Rorion Gracie. Year after year, Baltimore families and independent organizations have recognized Kanjizai as the city's best.

Today, Kanjizai continues to serve the Towson, Lutherville Timonium, and greater Baltimore community with the same commitment it started with — small classes, experienced instructors, and a program that works for everyone who walks through the door.
